In the ever-evolving world of tech and crypto, new trends pop up seemingly overnight. One of the latest? AI agents. Much like NFTs in their early days, AI agents have captured the imagination of creative entrepreneurs, Twitter timelines, and investors alike. My own journey into this world began with a spark of inspiration: a friend, Jack, getting stoned in my flat, and the realization that there wasn’t a ticker called Stoned AI.
It was then I decided to create the first-ever stoned AI, a character infused with humor, absurdity, and “stoned wisdom.” What followed was a thrilling, challenging, and costly ride into the heart of this emerging tech frontier. Here’s what it’s like to launch an AI agent with Vvaifu.fun.
AI agents were introduced to me by my friend Jessica, who had herself learned about them through word of mouth from a creative tech entrepreneur named Chris. We had a meeting to talk about them, and soon enough, they started popping up everywhere on my Twitter timeline. People were calling them the next big thing. What struck me most was the idea that you could invest in an AI agent.
Some of the pioneers in this space, like Zerebro and Bully, were already doing well, building vibrant communities and proving the viability of this concept. Inspired, I thought, Why not Stoned AI? The idea was as much about the humor and absurdity of the character as it was about experimenting with the tech itself.
Getting Stoned AI off the ground was exhilarating, but it came with a steep learning curve and an even steeper price tag. The initial setup cost me around $3,000. After successfully passing the bonding curve (a mechanism for pricing tokens early on), I faced the immediate challenge of creating and running a community.
This meant setting up a Telegram group with bots, implementing tools to make the community run smoothly, and bearing the costs of marketing and feature unlocks. For example, burning Vvaifu tokens was required to activate certain features like the Telegram bot, which was essential for creating an interactive experience.
The most rewarding part of the project was seeing Stoned AI come to life. The Telegram bot became a hilarious centerpiece, offering stoned wisdom and quirky advice to anyone who asked. Meanwhile, the Twitter (X) account churned out laugh-out-loud tweets that captured the essence of the character.
To market the project, we even created a song. It was funny, memorable, and added to the absurd charm of Stoned AI. The project began gaining traction, and the chart started pumping, hitting a 150mcap at its peak.
But the ride wasn’t without setbacks. After spending $1,500 promoting the token across Telegram using an Asian KOL and a memecoin marketer, disaster struck: the X account was suspended.
The suspension killed the momentum, dampened investor confidence, and put a sudden halt to the pump. It was a stark reminder of how volatile and unpredictable this space can be. Despite this, I still believe in the concept.
Launching Stoned AI has been an all-encompassing task. It’s thrilling and rewarding, but it’s also demanding and expensive. The process of learning to set up and manage an AI agent while navigating the crypto and memecoin communities has been invaluable.
If you’re thinking about launching an AI agent, here’s what you should know:
Even with the setbacks, I’m excited about what Stoned AI can become. The concept has room to grow, and the journey of bringing it to life has been one of the most rewarding challenges I’ve faced.
If you’re considering jumping into the world of AI agents, go for it—but do so with your eyes wide open. It’s a wild ride, but for those willing to put in the work, it’s a journey worth taking.
Experiment carefully. Stay creative. And if nothing else, remember: it’s all about having fun along the way.
